All offerings are open to the entire
community. For more information, contact Soul Link directly.
Retreats
A quarterly retreat
is held (for a half day) at various Colorado Springs sites. These gatherings
are open to the general public and are led by Soul-Link board members
and/or invited guest facilitators. The retreats consist of presentation,
quiet time for reflection, small and large group discussions. The purpose
of the retreat is to introduce to each other, people of like mind and
heart, and to enhance their awareness of the spiritual dimension of their
lives.
Community
Service
Because spirituality
is not a realm isolated from the reality of people, places and events,
and because it implies sensitivity to our relatedness with all people,
Soul-Link will coordinate volunteer service opportunities in cooperation
with local agencies and organizations. e.g. Habitat for Humanity, Soup
Kitchen, Tutoring, Care-giving in local nursing homes and hospitals.
There are also occasional service opportunities available on an "as needed"
basis.
Social
Activities
Because the formation
of and belonging to a community are important aspects of the spiritual
journey, various activities are organized around specific interests. On
a monthly basis, Soul-Link participants are invited to gather for companionship
and informal interaction in the context of a potluck meal followed by
discussion. Other activities include hikes on area trails, and film and
book discussion groups. . (See the Soul-Link Calendar
for updated information.)
Educational
Offerings
In order to further our grasp of the
spiritual reality that is our common bond, Soul-Link participants are
offered educational opportunities having to do with the health of mind,
body, and spirit. These offerings are led by invited presenters and others
who have expertise in pertinent areas.
Newsletters/Mailings
A quarterly newsletter
and other regular mailings are sent to all Soul-Link participants. The
purpose of the communication is three-fold: To convey information about
upcoming activities, to offer articles of interest for reflection, and
to provide periodic updates regarding future plans and activities for
Soul-Link. Please see the Newsletters webpage
for the current newsletter.
Leading
with Soul
The pace of our lives and
the weight of the responsibilities we assume is such that many of us lose
touch with our spiritual moorings - a sense of direction, meaning, unity/community,
and identity. Because the stresses related to employment are a major contributor
to our spiritual malaise, it is crucial that the workplace be one where
our spirits are nourished rather than depleted. Soul-Link offers businesses
and organizations the opportunity to have a unique experience that awakens
the spirit within. Through customized programs involving a combination
of presentations, readings, experiential exercises, targeted inquiry using
various assessment instruments, reflection, and discussion, participants
will discover ways to function at work which bring life to them and their
colleagues.
